If you believed that we got all the vampire series we could out of Julie Plec you were sorely mistaken… and I don`t know if that`s a good thing tbh!
While I am sure we can all agree that „Vampire Academy” getting a series is a fantastic news, I for one am not convinced that Julie Plec was a good choice for the production team.
Sure… she gave us „TVD” and „The Originals”, however when you look at all the things that came out about how she treated certain actors and co-workers while on those shows it should give you pause.
Are we getting the best we can out of an adaptation with drama on the set? Debatable…
Silver lining – it`s been announced that the project will be a shared effort with Marguerite MacIntyre. Our favourite Mistic Falls sheriff has been involved in the production over on the other „TVD” spinn-off, „Legacies”, so I believe we are in for something that will feel quite familiar.
As it has just been announced that „Vampire Academy” is getting an addaptation, we have not been teased with any casting posibilities and have not been given any specific timeframe of when filming might start. All we can go on for now is the literature the series will be based on; Vampire Academy is a series of books by Richelle Mead that has span over 6 novels.
The univers is a mix-and-match of various ideas from previous creations that managed to morph into an interesting concept – props to the authos on this one.
In 2014 the first novel was adapted in a movie, however it did not fare as well as expected.
Van Helsing – the series… yeah… not a fan. While I appreciate that fact that there are a lot of people who enjoy the numerous twists and turns that this saga has taken, I simply find that the writing is far-fetched.
Rather than cramming everything into a ball and hoping that the whole thing will generate a decent amount of views, I would have loved to see the multiple stories developed better, over more episodes. Blood hell, ”The vampire diaries” broke the seasons down and pulled off 2-3 plots at a decent pace. Could have tried that 😉 Back on track
The last season will be employing time travel to take us back to the birth of The Sisterhood and the Dark One.
Set in Transilvania, we are introduced to Count Dalibor and his wife Olivia as the pressure points. As it is assumed that the countess ultimately sells her soul to Michaela and starts expanding the Sisterhood the heroes are faced with the question of how to take out the future threat.
Pretty sure we can expect some Kick Arse directing tho` 😉
Bit of a bitter-sweet this one. Castlevania`s 4th season is set to premiere on the 13th of May and it has been confirmed that it will be its last installment.
With some fans thinking that the series should have ended with Dracula`s death and other claiming that a spin-off could be easily written at this point, it looks like pretty much everyone has mixed feeling about this announcement. Castlevania has thrilled us with a lot of “WHAT IFs” as it introduced a fantasy dimension where all our historical vampire figures were present; you have the vampire hunters and church collaboration that brings “Van Helsing” to mind and last but not least you have this “girl power” type of plot that has taken root with Carmilla prepairing to take the world by storm – literally. Not to mention that Castlevania had an excellent cast that you simply could not go wrong with!
It is currently rummored that Netflix is looking to create a new animation that would take place in the same universe, however I would class it as early speculation for the time being. Lets enjoy Castlevania while we still have new releases and keep our fingers crossed for the new series to be announced after they finish the roll-out for S4 ❤
Vampire attack… what a combination of words; one we would hope we would not be forced to consider in these modern times. Kindly note that this article was not written with an intent to dive into extreme details as I believe that maintaining a respectful attitude towards the victims is more important than anything in this series of articles.
Sad as it may be… we will be talking about a vampire attack in this article. It is april 2021 and Ndola is the stage for what could have turned into a tragedy, however the setting has somewhat of a silver lining in the sense that the victim was not killed.
The perpetrator and the victim in this vampire attack are not named due to the young age of both of them – all we have to go on is that a 13yo girl was arrested for biting off parts of the privates and drinking the blood of a 4yo girl she had kidnapped earlier in the day.
In what could have easily paralleled the case of young James Bulger in the UK, it is revealed that the teen snatched the younger girl from a yard where she had been left unattended for a short time and proceeded to try and relocate her.
As the toddler started to become more restless, the pair was stopped by passersby.
The vampire attack had already taken place and blood was dripping down the legs of the young child.
The police was called in and the investigation is underway. While we would be tempted to label the teen as suffering from a mental illness and leave it at that, we cannot deny that

No, my kind of vampires don`t sparkle in the sun and don`t have emo hairdos. They most certainly don`t wear tons of make-up and don`t chase deer in the forest! For me, the vampire is the bloodthirsty mythological creature that inspired the gothic novels and brought to surface the fears of the subconscious. For me… the image of the vampire is Norferatu or Dracula, surely not Edward Cullen. The only romantic shades that I can accept are those given by Anne Rice in the Vampire Chronicles.
