We all know how the „recent plague” has affected the movie industry and I for one have been keeping an eye on various projects that have been announced since back in 2019, however none has been delayed as much as the adaptation off Morbius.
Many were expecting the release this month, however it has been pushed yet again and it looks like April 2022 could finally be the date we get to see Jared Leto in the role of the titular vampire on the big screen.
Bringing to live the story of Dr Michael Morbius (played by Jared Leto) – a biochemist who developed a rare blood disorder and ends up trying out experiments to find a cure. He succeeds, but it comes at a price – Morbius develops superhuman powers and is turned into a living vampire.
The trailers released promise quite a lot from a visual perspective and the material they have available is quite vast – the comic books span out of the Spider-Man universe, with the character first appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man Issue #101 (October 1971).
Beginning originally as an antihero – a version of our favourite vampire Dracula 😉 Morbius then crossed in several other pararel Marvel universes and Morbius also got his own series in the 70s.
Both the main and the supporting cast is quite impressive and we can look forward to a couple of cameos as well. Morbius fans hope they’ll get to see Tom Hardy make a cameo appearance as Venom and we can also expect to see Michael Keaton, after he appeared in a teaser clip, but we’re not sure who he will be playing yet.
Are you as excited as I am? 😉 ๑۞๑ Related ๑۞๑

Once, vampires and humans lived in harmony. Now, a young girl and a vampire queen will search for that Paradise once again. In the divided world of the future, two girls want to do the forbidden: the human wants to play the violin, and the vampire wants to see a wider world.
While the plot summary for Vampire in the Garden on IMDB does not give us a lot to work with, the team involved in the project promises a great considering that they are behind the hit series Attack on Titan
While the project has its listing on the streaming service as one of its original pieces, Netflix has been sparce with details regarding Vampire in the Garden. The anime is shrouded in mystery, with no release date revealed for the time being. There is no official trailer available, just a couple of still images that give us a relative idea about the visuals we should be expecting.
Can`t wait to see what the end product will look like as I am sure that we will have plenty to swoon over while entering the universe of Vampire in the Garden – hopefully with an English audio to sweeten the binge.
I kept trying to write about this ever since I first woke up to the news that she had passed. And yet, every time I sat down with a pen and paper to try and pay tribute to her it felt like I was pouring out a piece of my soul
We all have our different memories about Anne Rice and the first time we were introduced to the wonderful universe of “The vampire Chronicles” – mine was actually through the movie adaptation; I saw at one point in my teen years and ended up researching and ordering the books.
As I am unable to formulate the semblance of a good post, please head over to The Gothic Library
I can only hope that the filming has started in December for the TV series – as it was originally reported in October. I could not find any news about it either way ๑۞๑ Related:๑۞๑

The saga of “The Vampire Chronicles” by Anne Rice has most certainly been a long and, often times, hard-to-keep-up-with one.
The rights to the vast universe created by Rice have been bought several times over the years, with multiple networks announcing that they would turn the novels into a series, however all hope seamed lost when a project fell through last year (just a couple of weeks before going into pre-production, might I add)
I kept my expectations in check when it was announced later that the project was revamped with AMC getting the ball rolling this year.
A first 8-episode season was announced at the beginning of 2021 and the principal cast was announced in August.
Perhaps the most anticipated announcement was the confirmation that the vampiric universe had found its new prince – Australian actor Sam Reid will be the 3rd actor to give life to Lestat de Lioncourt. While Tom Cruise`s shoes are certainly hard to fill, I look forward to seeing how Reid`s interpretation will fair, considering his previous work.
The star power of the new series is pumped by British actor Jacob Anderson [aka Grey Worm from “Game of Thrones”] who is set to interpret the conflicted Louis.
With filming set to start in December and a release date to be announced for Spring of 2022, there is even more to look forward to because the deal signed for the movie rights also included Anne Rice`s secondary book series – the life of the Mayfair Witches. ๑۞๑ Related:๑۞๑

If you believed that we got all the vampire series we could out of Julie Plec you were sorely mistaken… and I don`t know if that`s a good thing tbh!
While I am sure we can all agree that „Vampire Academy” getting a series is a fantastic news, I for one am not convinced that Julie Plec was a good choice for the production team.
Sure… she gave us „TVD” and „The Originals”, however when you look at all the things that came out about how she treated certain actors and co-workers while on those shows it should give you pause.
Are we getting the best we can out of an adaptation with drama on the set? Debatable…
Silver lining – it`s been announced that the project will be a shared effort with Marguerite MacIntyre. Our favourite Mistic Falls sheriff has been involved in the production over on the other „TVD” spinn-off, „Legacies”, so I believe we are in for something that will feel quite familiar.
As it has just been announced that „Vampire Academy” is getting an addaptation, we have not been teased with any casting posibilities and have not been given any specific timeframe of when filming might start. All we can go on for now is the literature the series will be based on; Vampire Academy is a series of books by Richelle Mead that has span over 6 novels.
The univers is a mix-and-match of various ideas from previous creations that managed to morph into an interesting concept – props to the authos on this one.
In 2014 the first novel was adapted in a movie, however it did not fare as well as expected.

No, my kind of vampires don`t sparkle in the sun and don`t have emo hairdos. They most certainly don`t wear tons of make-up and don`t chase deer in the forest! For me, the vampire is the bloodthirsty mythological creature that inspired the gothic novels and brought to surface the fears of the subconscious. For me… the image of the vampire is Norferatu or Dracula, surely not Edward Cullen. The only romantic shades that I can accept are those given by Anne Rice in the Vampire Chronicles.
